19 April is Record Store Day! The celebratory day started in 2007 when over 700 independent stores in the USA got together to put the art of record making in a special spotlight, as well as to raise awareness for this fast declining industry. The UK followed in 2009 with Record Store Day celebrations and it has seen a growing success ever since. Visit your local store this weekend and show them your support!
 Record Store Day 2014
Expect a special treat as small music festivals will pop up across the country, exclusive vinyls will be released, and artists are set to perform and make in-store appearances. Although record consumption was on a low for a while, the latest vintage trend means the LP is back in fashion. The amount of new releases on vinyl continues to grow, making Record Store Day a perfect opportunity to treat yourself to your favourite music.
World Music Network is also celebrating Record Store Day with our selection of 180gram Limited Edition vinyls and new vinyl releases. These new releases will only become available on our website after  Record Store Day, so the quickest way for you to add them to your LP collection is by hurrying over to your local store on Saturday, to go and get them!
