Jacksons to play Hardwick Live Garden Party

ORGANISERS of a music extravaganza are flying in pop royalty from America to wow their North East audience for what may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see such global stars
Legendary band The Jacksons have sold over 100 million albums worldwide will perform their only UK date this year at the second annual Hardwick Live Garden Party, which has expanded to a two-day event.This year's Hardwick Live will take place in the picturesque grounds of Hardwick Hall Hotel on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th September.
Glaswegian arena band Simple Minds will headline the Friday stage. The Brit Award nominated band had a string of hits such as Alive and Kicking and Belfast Child as well as US number one Don't You (Forget About Me), the anthem of 80s teen movie The Breakfast Club.
Joining Simple Minds for the new Friday night music programme will be four times Brit Award winners Scouting for Girls. Scouting for Girls chalked up a string of Hits including the Ivor Novello Award winning This Ain't a Love Song. Radio One Zane Lowe's 'Next Hype', Charlie Cunningham, will join the line-up.
Eighties idol Adam Ant, lead singer of Adam and the Ants, will support The Jacksons on the Saturday line-up. Adam scored 10 top ten hits in the UK including three number one singles and will be joined by Iconic rock band Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel; Hugh Cornwall of The Stranglers and 90s Brit pop heroes Dodgy.Soul singer Kenny Thomas, Teesside's Cattle and Cane, and London singer-songwriter Emma Garrett, who cites 6 Music Laurene Laverne and Radio 1 Mary Anne Hobbs as fans, will also perform on Saturday.
Local Acts Twister and The Voluntears will also have an opportunity to perform to the Hardwick Live audience. John added: 'More than 8,500 people attended Hardwick Live last year which was fantastic in its first year and we're hoping to attract even more families and music fans this year with our incredible lineup. 'We're keen to promote local talent too so have included bands from the north east in the line-up for each day.'
In addition to the music, party-goers can look forward to fairground rides, a brass band, DJ stage, street entertainers and the luxurious Champagne Taittinger hot air balloon. There will also be an international food village as well as champagne, Pimms and cocktails tents on site throughout the event.
Friday's event will run from 4-11pm and gates will re-open on Saturday from noon-11pm.Weekend tickets are available to purchase from (insert date) at £79 per adult via www.hardwicklive.co.uk or by calling 01740 620 253.
Alternatively, individual tickets can be purchased for each day; £36 (adult), £10 (young person under 16) and £5 (child) for Friday and £49 (adult), £12 (young person under 16) and £6 (child) for Saturday.
