The NFL Draft Overview and Mock Draft: NFL Draft Daily

Hey there NFL Daily fans! You may have thought we were done here but now we have to go over the projected Mock Draft made during the month of March! Some may not agree, and after looking over some, and hearing numerous reports out of camps; we may not even agree with some anymore. So, needless to say the NFL Draft Daily will write a brief description next to each pick, and at the end will project where we think they will be going come next weeks draft. Some prospects have fallen off, some have sky rocketed up the board; but who knows where everyone will finally be in nine days? Nobody. Teams have tricks up their sleeves and prospects who pop out to them that nobody else thought would go early. So lets go over the recently projected picks and see if there is a difference in opinion of our analysis leading up to the draft.
1. Houston Texans- Jadeveon Clowney, DE - Still agree with this pick. Will the Texans stick to the 3-4 or is Clowney a player worth adjusting the scheme for? Clowney is a once in a decade pass rusher. Texans may trade out of this pick if a nice offer comes along, so look for a trade out, possibly targeting Khalil Mack or a quarterback.
2. St. Louis Rams- Greg Robinson, OT - Robinson is the most physically dominating tackle on the board, and can only get better, Rams would be doing themselves a favor by drafting this former Auburn Tiger.
3. Jacksonville Jaguars- Teddy Bridgewater, QB - This is one pick we don’t agree with anymore. Bridgewater has fallen out of favor after his horrid pro day and could possibly fall out of the first round. Khalil Mack or Sammy Watkins would be our new pick here.
4. Cleveland Browns- Sammy Watkins, WR - Watkins with Gordon would provide a duo of wide receivers the Browns have never seen before. Play making ability all over the field, just need a quarterback and running back.
5. Oakland Raiders- Johnny Manziel, QB - We still agree, to an extent; on this pick. Oakland needs a quarterback or a tackle with this pick. If there is any other option, tackle Jake Matthews would be the other pick.
6. Atlanta Falcons- Jake Matthews, OT - Either way the Falcons need to protect Matt Ryan. If any of the top three tackles are on the board, the Falcons would be wise to take one.
7. Tampa Bay Bucaneers- Anthony Barr, OLB - Yes this is another change that would be made. The NFL Draft Daily would immediately put wide receiver, Mike Evans, here without any hesitation.
8. Minnesota Vikings- Blake Bortles, QB - Bortles is the top quarterback on the board and could possibly be available for the QB hungry Vikings. A trade may be more likely though, sounds like the Miami Dolphins are quite interested in trading up from their position with Minnesota.
9. Buffalo Bills- Khalil Mack, OLB - The Bills would jump at the opportunity to land Mack if he’s available at pick nine. It sounds more likely that he will go early though, maybe tight end, Eric Ebron, becomes an option here.
10. Detroit Lions- Justin Gilbert, CB - Detroit sorely needs a corner and it would be a smart decision. The Lions are reportedly really on Sammy Watkins and may make the move up to grab him. If they can’t, Justin Gilbert is the best option.
11. Tennessee Titans- C.J. Mosley, MLB - Sensible pick and a safe pick, Mosley would be a quality addition to that defense. A quarterback could be in play though, as coach Whisenhunt has stated Locker is in a “make or break” year.
12. New York Giants- Taylor Lewan, OT - If Taylor Lewan falls to 12, the Giants should pick him up. Defensive line needs help as well though, and Aaron Donald from Pittsburgh could be a stalwart at the position.
13. St. Louis Rams- Mike Evans, WR - Position of need and Evans were to make it to the 13th pick, Rams should be all over him. If not, look for a safety to become the next best option.
14. Chicago Bears- Aaron Donald , DT - Chicago makes this move without no hesitation. Aaron Donald’s stock has been rising up the NFL Draft, and if he lands in the Bears lap; they should be inclined to keep him.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers- Darqueze Dennard, S - Great pick up and a position of need for the Steelers. You can almost certainly mark Dennard down as the 15th pick in the draft.
16. Dallas Cowboys- Timmy Jernigan, DT - Jernigan’s stock has fallen and could be out of favor right here with the 16th pick. A safety like Calvin Pryor or a defensive end like, Kony Ealy, could be in play. Also, don’t sleep on Johnny Manziel if he falls this far.
17. Baltimore Ravens- Marqise Lee, WR - Safe pick and a position of need for the Ravens. Either Lee or Beckham Jr. would be a quality receiver at 17.
18. New York Jets- Eric Ebron, TE - Ebron should be the pick if he falls to 18. The Jets sorely need offensive weapons and a play making tight end only helps either Geno Smith or Michael Vick.
19. Miami Dolphins- Zack Martin, OT - The Dolphins are taking an offensive lineman, you can almost bank on that. Sources say that Miami are in talks with Minnesota about their 8th pick, in order to move up and take one of the premier tackles in the draft. If not, Martin will be a safe pick here.
20. Arizona Cardinals- Jason Verrett, CB - Verrett just adds more talent to an already stacked defense. Quarterback may be in play but they want to win now, as well as into the future.
21. Green Bay Packers- Ha Ha Clinton Dix, S - Packers need to get better defensively, it’s been said all off season. Dix is the best safety there and they badly need one.
22. Philadelphia Eagles- Brandin Cooks, WR - No way better then to replace an expensive DeSean Jackson then with a rookie who can perform practically at the same level with less pay right? Right.
23. Kansas City Chiefs- Calvin Pryor, S - Safety is a dire need for the Chiefs and if Pryor so happens to fall to 23, they will probably take him. Another possible option is a wide receiver, Beckham Jr., Benjamin, and Latimer all in play.
24. Cincinnati Bengals- Kony Ealy, DE - Bengals need a replacement for Michael Johnson and Ealy does just that with his size and length, a dark horse right here could be Demarcus Lawrence out of Boise State.
25. San Diego Chargers- Dee Ford, DE/OLB - Creates great pressure on quarterbacks, which is great for a division that has QB’s like Peyton Manning and Alex Smith.
26. Cleveland Browns- Derek Carr, QB - Easy pick for the Browns. Need a quarterback and Carr has probably the most NFL ready intangibles in the draft. That quick release and strong arm would excel with Josh Gordon and Sammy Watkins.
27. New Orleans Saints- Kyle Fuller, CB - Saints need better corner play and Fuller would have been considered the top corner on the board if he had stayed healthy. Saints get a steal right here.
28. Carolina Panthers- Odell Beckham Jr, WR - Panthers have gotten rid of both of their starting wide receivers and have not replaced them with starting caliber receivers in the off season. Beckham Jr. brings a Victor Cruz-esque type player for Newton to play with.
29. New England Patriots- Ra’Shede Hageman, DT - Patriots are aging on the defensive line and need to find that young hybrid defensive tackle who could dominate the line of scrimmage for them again. Insert Minnesota standout, Ra’Shede Hageman.
30. San Francisco 49ers- Demarcus Lawrence, DE/OLB - Risky pick and a very surprising prediction, but Lawrence has all the tools to do exactly what Aldon Smith did with less hassle.
31. Denver Broncos- Ryan Shazier, LB - Very versatile linebacker, who can line up both inside and outside; and constantly makes plays. Denver’s defense needs a player like Shazier to man the middle.
32. Seattle Seahawks- Kelvin Benjamin, WR - A tall, athletic, freak of an athlete is needed for Russell Wilson to excel. If Pete Carrol can keep this kid straight, sky’s the limit.
A possible gems and busts article could be in the works for the NFL Draft Daily, stay tuned and be on the look out. Thanks for viewing all the articles leading up to the draft and enjoy the pre draft festivities for the next nine days. We are almost in the beginning stages folks, it’s an exciting time to be an NFL fan.
